It's all about Cheryl's album for a 2nd week with a 3rd track from the UK's #1 album of the moment joining the chart . "Parachute" knocks The Saturdays' "Forever Is Over" out the chart after 9 weeks and a peak of #2. I reckon "3 Words" could become one of the biggest hits on TT10 in 2009 or even 2010 when the single gets in full release in January. And, there's still a good chance Britney or Lady Gaga could snatch the #1 from Cheryl in the coming weeks!

So, Cheryl Cole fought her way to her highest position so far on Tim's Top 10 at #2 with "Fight For This Love" but couldn't quite knock Alexandra Burke from the top this week, who now spends a 6th week on top with "Bad Boys" out of 7 weeks on the chart! Whitney's X Factor effect has done her no favours, dropping to her lowest position on her 2nd run in the chart with her comeback single. Britney also claws back up to her peak of #3 with "3" while The Saturdays and Sugababes see their latest hits drop to their lowest positions to date, though it HAS taken 13 weeks in the top 5 before Sugababes stoop this "low." I predict Cheryl will nab the #1 next week with new entries due from The Saturdays with their new single, along with Westlife who release their new single on the 26th October!

So following the initial "loving" of Britney's new single, the excitement died down and thus has to settle for a more modest new entry at #3, while, Alexandra still rules the roost and The Saturdays are stuck right behind. Sugababes amazingly gain a position on the last 4 weeks' static position while Cheryl Cole, rather than leaping up to the top end of the chart slips 2 places with 2 weeks to go before its official release. The Chew Fu Remix of Lady Gaga's "Lovegame" has refreshed interest in the song and keeps the track the longest-staying song in the chart at present. "She Wolf" is starting to wane while The Black Eyed Peas stay in purely on the fact there's nothing to replace it at the moment that's worth putting in the top 10.

So, in the most static chart since Tim's Top 10 relaunched in July, Alexandra Burke manages a 3rd consecutive week at the top with "Bad Boys" which is released in 4 weeks' time. Britney Spears, who has had 2 of the top songs of the last 12 months (Womanizer, If U Seek Amy) released her latest song "3" to US radio on Tuesday and is already a known contender for next week's nearest rival to Alexandra at the top of this chart. Mini Viva leave the chart after 2 weeks with "Left My Heart in Tokyo." The track peaked at #4 and dropped to #10 last week.

Again, no major changes in the chart this week, with just one new entry from Cheryl Cole with the catchy debut single "Fight For This Love" which, although gets under the skin, the vocals have been so badly produced that it really lets the song down because Cheryl can sing if its the right arrangement, which this isn't...for her anyway! Xenomania's Mini Viva plunge 6 as the only real victim on this week's chart while Lily Allen's "Fuck You" leaves the chart after a 6-week residency which included a week at #1. Still no sign of Madonna making any impression on the top end of the chart with "Celebration" even with a full single release this week. Everything in the chart is generally holding steady as Whitney Houston is the only act to leave the chart this week following the entry from Xenomania's Mini Viva at #4. The Saturdays will undoubtedly climb before its late September release but, Alexandra Burke and Shakira will keep things a 3-way race for a while yet, I reckon.

The number 1 song has looked like it could have been a number of the songs in the chart during the course of the week leading up to the creation of the actual chart but, in the end of a tight top-end chop and change session, Shakira climbs 5 places in her 2nd week with "She Wolf" while The Saturdays follow up the fantastic "Work" with "Forever is Over." Alexandra's first single from her debut album is in the same vein as Rachel Stevens' most recent singles...just a shame the critical praise the music received back in 2005 didn't equal sales... Notice the omissions of former big hitters Mika and Madonna! Leaving the chart this week are Kasabian, Cascada, The Pussycat Dolls and The Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow."

So, after a 4-week climb, Lady Gaga claims the #1 position with Love Game while Shakira has the only new entry of the week with the title track from her 3rd English album She Wolf. Calvin Harris is on a slippery slope downwards, though could calm down by next week and loiter around the #5 position as I fear Kasabian will lose momentum quickly.

Black Eyed Peas round off both sides of the 2nd edition of Tim's Top 10, one of which "I've Gotta Feeling" is a brand new entry at #1 and both tracks (the other being Boom Boom Pow at #10) feature on the group's 5th album "The E.N.D."

Sugababes made a live return to Wales at the weekend performing at Ponty's Big Weekend in Pontypridd, concluding the day's pop extravaganza which also starred Bjorn Again, with a 1-hour Greatest Hits set! "Get Sexy" is released on 17 August to download with the CD release due 2 weeks after.

Keri Hilson drops a place to 3 with "Knock You Down."

Last week's #1 from Benny Anderssons Orkester (The Benny Andersson Band) drops to #4 and is titled "Story of a Heart" as is the album.

The Saturdays' "Work" drops just 2 places to #5.

Cascada's "Evacuate the Dancefloor" also drops just 2 to #6.

Lady Gaga has the 3rd highest new entry in the top 10 this week at #7 with her 3rd UK single "Paparazzi" which is accompanied by a mind-boggling 10-minute promo video. She is also at #9 with her 3rd international single "Lovegame."

Finally, at #8 is newcomer Melanie Fiona, who, after some minor chart success in her native Canada and the U.S. with "Give it to me Right" which features a sample from "Time of the Season" by The Zombies. So far, it has only just scraped into the UK top 40 and left after just 1 week, but has a ballsy vocal!

This week's top 10 looks like this... Benny Andersson, 1/4 of ABBA, and his latest band are at #1 with the first song composed by Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (another 1/4 of ABBA), in 15 years! It features on the band's first English language album "Story of a Heart" which is a top 30 selling album in the UK this week.

Keri Hilson is at 2 with "Knock You Down" from her debut solo album "In a Perfect World" which also features the singles "Return the Favor", "The Way I Are" and "Scream", all featuring Timbaland in some form.

The Saturdays suffered the fate of Michael Jackson's dominance on the sales charts the last couple of weeks, with their lowest charting single to date, but it still holds firm in the top 3 on Tim's Top 10. Their 2nd album is due in October.

Cascada's "Evacuate the Dancefloor" single is #1 in the UK sales chart and #4 on this chart while its parent album sits at #8 this week.

Eight months since its release and "If U Seek Amy" is still high on my chart and, consequently my ringtone as well! It's at #5 this week.

Black Eyed Peas' next single "I Gotta Feeling" is set to overtake "Boom Boom Pow" in next week's sales charts in the UK, while the latter is still the only entry on Tim's Top 10 at #6.

Lady Gaga is apparently not releasing "Lovegame" in the UK for its iffy lyrics about disco sticks and the like but, it's still superior to "Paparazzi" and reaches #7 on my chart this week.

Britney is the only artist to feature twice on this week's chart with "Radar" released this month. Check out the horse-related video to the single. She's at #8.

David Guetta and Kelly Rowland are in the sales top 5 in the UK this week with "When Love Takes Over" but is falling off the radar swiftly on Tim's Top 10, limping to #9.

Suffering a similar fate are the Freemasons and Sophie Ellis-Bextor at #10, though they are faring better than on the sales chart where they haven't managed to climb into the top 10 at all! Another victim of the Jacko effect of late.
